In his homily, held this morning in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Francis with great ease and amazement among the faithful present reveals: “Dear brothers, I wanted to tell all of you that we are not alone in the universe. Science has already made so much progress and will most likely soon will know our new brothers and sisters with whom we will exchange a sign of peace. Pope Francis has named a British sociologist to run a pontifical academy, marking the highest-ranking appointment of a woman in his papacy. The Vatican announced Saturday that Margaret Scotford Archer will lead the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, which produces research to help the church establish policy. MORE
The problem with equal pay for women
It’s not about whether one out performs the other but with all things being equal, a woman, for the most part, because of their gender, has more physical problems which causes them to be absent form work more than men. Then there are children family problems which compounds more frequent absenteeism. This is just a reality any employee has to consider when making choices for promotions and management positions, and the like. Until men can have babies and be mothers, I’m afraid the equal balance can never be the same and I hope I never live to see it. I lived in North Korea for the first 15 years of my life, believing Kim Jong-il was a god. I never doubted it because I didn’t know anything else. I could not even imagine life outside of the regime. It was like living in hell. There were constant power outages, so everything was dark. There was no transportation – everyone had to walk everywhere. It was very dirty and no one could eat anything. It was not the right conditions for human life, but you couldn’t think about it, let alone complain about it. Even though you were suffering, you had to worship the regime every day. MORE
