A Syrian air base near the coastal area of Latakia sustained heavy damage late Wednesday night in a suspected missile attack from the sea, and all signs point to Israel. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported a loud explosion in a Syrian army base and a Syrian security official confirmed there was a strike. LINK

Mount Etna, one of the most active volcanoes in the world has again started spewing lava from its bowels and sent a huge plume of volcanic ash into the air much akin to the earlier eruptions in 2012. Mount Etna volcano is situated in Sicily and it started to spew volcanic ash on Saturday Morning. LINK
