Steven Spielberg movie Catholic kidnapping of Jewish boy

webRNS-SPIELBERG-MORTARA4-022317Suffer little children?  Can we trust Queer loving Steven to tell the truth?

BOLOGNA, Italy (RNS)  It was a heart-wrenching story that bitterly divided Catholics and Jews in Italy and provoked an international scandal more than 150 years ago.

Edgardo Mortara, a Jewish boy from Bologna, was secretly baptized by a maid when he fell ill and then forcibly removed from his family in 1858 at age 6 and raised as a Catholic with the blessing of Pope Pius IX. MORE

A highly recommended suggestion for Lent

As promised two days ago on the Sean Hannity radio show, James O’Keefe and his team at Project Veritas just released covertly captured, previously unseen video footage from within the CNN newsroom.  But unlike his usual undercover sting operations, this footage was allegedly sourced from a CNN insider who apparently grew frustrated with the biased reporting of the “fake news” media outlet. 636226936285027235-143475Trump’s Johnson Amendment is allowing tax-exempt groups to engage in politics. Now all the religions can work together and will out number the Liberals.

We’re going to hear more now about the Johnson Amendment, the tax code provision that you just heard President Trump promising to destroy. The amendment was originally proposed by then-Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, and it became law back in 1954. Trump can’t just undo it. Congress would have to repeal it. It says tax-exempt groups like churches and charities can’t speak for or against particular political candidates. MORE
