Ford’s decision to kill most of its cars was inevitable

How sad, Ford declined government loans during the 2008-9 crash.
American drivers have made up their minds. Bigger is most certainly better, and Ford Motor Co. has reacted. This week the automaker announced that over the next few years it would be phasing out all its cars (except for the iconic Mustang) in favor of SUVs, trucks and commercial vehicles (vans) in the United States. Don’t @ me about the Focus Active — it’s a crossover, it’s not a car. The surprise wasn’t that it happened — the surprise is that it took so long. MORE

Dear Reader:

I am returning to the thesis on Confirmation. Since Holy Mother Church begins to prepare us for the feast of Pentecost (May 20) this week along with Ascension Thursday (May 10), it seems providential that there will be some reflection upon the Holy Ghost. Continue reading

Please pray for us in California. We need it with all the evil goings on here.

Dear God fearing people of California: I do not know how AB 2943 will effect our religious beliefs but we have a Governor’s election coming up soon and we need to pool all our resources and vote for the best candidate that will protect our Conservative God fearing beliefs.
We defeated same sex marriage with proposition 8 just to have a State judge shoot it down and our Governor, Jerry Brown refused to help defend the will of the people on this issue. This may be our last chance to stop the spread of liberalism and protect our children from the sinful policies of this State. AB 2943 bans books, conferences, counseling advocating Muslim, Jewish, and Christian views on gender and sexual orientation

Why Saint Peter Denied Jesus Christ that night of the Last Super

When it comes to remembering one’s faults and virtues, it’s the faults that seems to get the attention more so than the virtues. In the case of St.Peter’s three time denial of our Lord in the court yard of Caiphas.

So let’s take another look a at what really happened that night in the Garden of Olives when the band of soldiers and servants came to arrest him.”Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way. …..”  At this point Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear…”Jesus therefore said to Peter: Put up thy sword into the scabbard. The chalice which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?” Well my friends at this point you could only imagine what was going through St. Peters mind. Here he was ready to KILL and DIE for Jesus and the Lord stops him. As you recall, ALL the Apostles ran away, one ran naked after he lost the sheet wrapped around him, so instinctively St. Peter joined them. Now my friends, at this point you had, not one Apostle denying Christ but ALL twelve. However there was one Apostle who  followed the Lord at a distance and wound up in the court of the High priest in order to check on the Lord and that was St. Peter. So it’s no wonder that the Lords prophecy would come true on his prediction of St. Peters three time denial of the Lord. Understanding our Human nature, even our Lord had trouble with dying, “Father if it be possible, let this cup pass me by, but not my will but thy will but done.”

So my friends we must be careful how we portray the lives of the Saints as with St. Peter who went from a fisherman to the “Rock of the Faith.” on which the Church was built. He walked on water. His preaching,(along with others) on Pentecost Sunday converted three thousand. He too cured the sick. Later he miraculously escaped from prison with the help of the continuous overnight prayers of the faithful.

Another point of interest that many fail to remember is that during Pentecost Sunday these Jews that were gathered in Jerusalem came from all over the world and after, those that got converted were really the first ones to bring the good news back to their countries so that once the Apostles started traveling around the world, they already had contacts there who were ready to receive them.

The Greater Litanies April 25

April 25 is honored in the Liturgy by what is sometimes called Saint Mark’s Procession. The term, however, is not a correct one, inasmuch as the Procession was a privilege peculiar to April 25 previously to the institution of the Evangelist’s Feast, which even as late as the 6th century had no fixed day in the Roman Church. The real name of this Procession is The Greater Litanies. The word Litany means supplication, and is applied to the religious rite of singing certain chants whilst proceeding from place to place in order to propitiate Heaven.  The two Greek words Kyrie eleison (Lord, have mercy on us) were also called Litany, as likewise were the invocations which were afterwards added to that cry for mercy, and which now form a liturgical prayer used by the Church on certain solemn occasions. Russia Is Mopping The Floor With The US In The Arctic, And It’s Downright Embarrassing

Coast Guard Adm. Paul Zukunft has once again appeared before Congress to basically beg for a scrap or two so the service can compete against Russia in the Arctic.

In a Tuesday hearing with the House Appropriations Homeland Security subcommittee, Zukunft told lawmakers the US had to demonstrate it was “serious” about building a new icebreaker, which would augment an existing active icebreaker fleet with a grand total of one (yes, 1!) the US is currently operating. My take on Syria’s Chemical attack

To begin with, Assad has to be a complete jerk to use chemical weapons in this stage of the war. First he is winning the war against the rebels, second President Trump just announced a few weeks ago that he was going to pull our troops out of Syria. No doubt that a Syrian plane or helicopter dropped the Chemical barrel bomb because they traced the aircraft back to the Syrian base. The only answer to this I can think of is, SABOTAGE. I honestly believe some high ranking traitorous official smuggled a few barrels of chemicals and had them marked the same way as the regular barrel bombs which got put on the aircraft unknown to the pilots or anyone else.
On the other hand it was Assad and Russia’s responsibility that all these chemical weapons were out of the country or at least hidden and guarded safely. Whatever the case, I’m sure all parities will see that it doesn’t happen again.

Largest maker of bump stocks will stop accepting orders

The largest manufacturer of bump stocks, which enable semiautomatic weapons to fire rapidly like automatic firearms, announced Wednesday that it will stop taking orders and shut down its website next month.

The announcement comes about a month after President Trump said his administration would “ban” bump stocks, which he said “turn legal weapons into illegal machines.” MORE

Volcano in southern Japan erupts for 1st time in 250 years

TOKYO (AP) — A volcano in southern Japan has erupted for the first time in 250 years, and authorities set up a no-go zone around the mountain.

Mount Io spewed smoke and ash high into the sky Thursday in its first eruption since 1768. Japan’s Meteorological Agency on Friday expanded a no-go zone to the entire mountain from previously just around the volcano’s crater. Continue reading

Dear Reader:

Next week I will return to the thesis on Sacrament of Confirmation, concluding the treatise on Mary, Co-Redemptrix, in this issue. In between, on April 25 the Church will be asking Divine intervention as she prays the Litanies and processes through the streets. You may say this is now rarely done, and this may be true. Still, it is part of the Church Tradition and it is wonderful in those communities where it is still possible. The spirit of the liturgy will continue to be that of asking God’s divine intervention that we may be protected from natural disasters, wars, pestilence and famine. Continue reading

Sandy Hook Parents Sue Alex Jones for Defamation

Alex Jones, (the right wing’s Jesse Jackson) fake news reports are finally coming to an end once this case hits the courts. It’s sad one can’t charge these BUM’S criminally and put them in jail as well.

Three parents whose children were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012 filed a defamation lawsuit on Tuesday against Alex Jones, the right-wing conspiracy theorist who has long claimed the shooting was “completely fake” and a “giant hoax” perpetrated by opponents of the Second Amendment. St. Pope Anicetus Feast day April 17.U.S. coordinated the attack during the Octave of a Syrian Pope

St. Pope Anicetus  Feast day April 17.

Funny how the U.S. coordinated the attack during the Octave of a Syrian Pope.

Anicetus was a Syrian from Emesa. He became pope about 155 and actively opposed Marcionism and Gnosticism. His pontificate saw the appearance of the controversy between East and West over the date of Easter. St. Polycarp, a discipleof John, is reported to have visited him in Rome about the dispute, which was to accelerate and grow more heated over the following centuries. MORE
