Under Voting. Since citizens have a large share in the election of all public officers from the President to the town marshal, they should fulfill such a duty faithfully and conscientiously. There may even be a moral obligation to vote at elections in order to prevent the election of one who would do grave (moral) public harm if elected. If the choice lies between candidates who are equally good or equally bad, there is no obligation in conscience to cast one’s vote.

Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary

On October 7, the Roman Catholic Church celebrates the yearly feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Known for several centuries by the alternate title of “Our Lady of Victory,” the feast day takes place in honor of a 16th century naval victory which secured Europe against Turkish invasion. Pope St. Pius V attributed the victory to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was invoked on the day of the battle through a campaign to pray the Rosary throughout Europe. MORE
