Lebanon Bans Spielberg’s ‘The Post’

The director’s list of sins include filming the final scene of ‘Schindler’s List’ in Jerusalem

Democracy dies in darkness: Lebanon announced earlier this week that it will not permit public screenings of Steven Spielberg’s The Post, because the director had filmed scenes of Schindler’s List in Jerusalem, thereby violating The Censorship Committee of the General Security Directorate’s “boycott Israel” policy.  MORE

Sexless Marriage. Not like the old days?

“He has always been my soulmate in every sense of the word and we felt mutually that Vegas was the place to finalize our commitment to partnership,” Brown explained on Instagram. “Peter and I are not romantically involved — in fact we are still dating others and will continue to seek love in all forms — we are just each other’s hearts and wish to begin our journey towards evolution, because the more we face reality, the more we can see that there is no right or wrong.” MORE

Using Dogs to detect cancer

Dogs are not only loving companions. They could also be our most reliable weapon against cancer.

In a Japan first, a small, agrarian community in Yamagata Prefecture will start using specially trained dogs this month to screen its residents for cancer. MORE

The dangers in all private revelations

Without a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures as interpreted by the Church, private revelation that contains ambiguity can lead one into heresy.

Mr. Saraceno,

your email was followed by an avalanche of statements. Most of them seem to forget that the MCG is of the domain of private revelation, and thus in no way binding as to faith and morals. Comparative studies of private revelations about the life of Mary(Bridget, Emmerick, Valtorta) show that there exist discrepancies. MCD has the status of an apocryphal document, a narrative or picture book to illustrate the foundational text of our faith, i.e. Holy Scripture. The Church never included these documents, f.ex. the Pseudo-Gospel of James(from around 150), in the official Canon. Quite frequently, private Continue reading

Mankind and Unity “That all may be one”

ON THE EVE of His passion, Christ prayed, “That all may be one. even as thou, Father, in me and I in thee; that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me” (John 17:21)
Far back in the fifth century St. Prosper of Aquitaine wrote, “The Church pleads before God everywhere, not only for the saints and those regenerated in Christ, but also for all infidels and all enemies of the cross of Christ, for all worshipers of Idols, for all who persecute Christ in his members, for the Jews whose blindness does not see the light of the Gospel, for heretics and schismatics who are alien to the unity of faith and charity.”

A password for the Hawaii emergency agency was hiding in a public photo, written on a Post-it note

  • A false alert warning of an inbound missile was broadcast in Hawaii on Saturday.
  • Since then, people have discovered that a photo taken in Hawaii’s Emergency Management Agency for a news article in July includes a sticky note with a password.
  • Hawaii says the alert was sent was because “an employee pushed the wrong button,” not because of a hack, but the photo has sparked criticism about the agency’s level of security. MORE

The founders of New California took an early step toward statehood Monday with the reading of their own Declaration of Independence from California, a state they describe as “ungovernable.”

“After years of over taxation, regulation, and mono-party politics the State of California and many of it’s 58 Counties have become ungovernable,” the group said in a statement, citing a “decline in essential basic services” including education, law enforcement, infrastructure and health care. US cold snap was a freak of nature, quick analysis finds

This helps with my position that it’s not just global warming but global SINNING and God’s hand is speaking to us to get ready for His return.

Consider this cold comfort: A quick study of the brutal American cold snap found that the Arctic blast really wasn’t global warming but a freak of nature.

Frigid weather like the two-week cold spell that began around Christmas is 15 times rarer than it was a century ago, according to a team of international scientists who does real-time analyses to see if extreme weather events are natural or more likely to happen because of climate change. MORE

The Commemoration of the Baptism of our Lord January 13.

There were or are some protestant groups who once believed that Jesus did not become God until he was baptized and the Holy Ghost came down upon Him on this day. However these are a minority.
Saturday, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Baptism of Our Lord. This brings to an end the season of Christmas. The Church recalls Our Lord’s second manifestation or epiphany which occurred on the occasion of His baptism in the Jordan. Jesus descended into the River to sanctify its waters and to give them the power to beget sons of God. The event takes on the importance of a second creation in which the entire Trinity intervenes.
