Toxin levels to be tested weekly

The California crabbing season will be delayed until state health officials determine domoic acid levels in local shellfish are low enough they can be eaten without health risk, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife announced by press release late Friday.

The California Fish and Game Commission voted Thursday to postpone the start of recreational crabbing. This was followed by CDFW Director Charlton H. Bonham taking emergency rulemaking action on Friday to put off commercial harvesting.  MORE

Pope Francis stumbled and fell as he walked up steps in St Peter’s Squareon Saturday.

The pontiff struck a prayer-like pose as he tumbled up the steps, stopping his fall with his hands before being helped by two security personnel walking beside him.

He then continues his ascent, apparently unfazed by the slip-up. MORE

I wrote to the newly elected “Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico,” and even though I don’t have a copy of it, I do have a copy of their reply, dated 10-4-2013.

The suggestion’s I recall was to legalize marijuana in order to get rid of the drug cartels. Then legalize and develop a Las Vegas type gaming city with the opportunity for those drug cartel’s without murder crimes, an opportunity to manage a casino which would take them out of their crime world.
