California wild fires are another story. The western US and Canada has been getting dryer (not hotter) for at least 500 years. (SoCal used to be a rain forest 6,000 years ago.)  Man’s contribution to earth’s temperature rise is very small, But the increased CO2 in earth’s atmosphere does have a measurable affect on plants. They grow faster and more massive.  The difference is especially significant in arid regions.  Satellite photos show remarkable “greening effect” in semi-arid regions everywhere around the world. I have noticed in the canyons I hike something like double the woody desert scrub fuel, just in the last 13 years I have lived here.
