Eastern Greek Orthodox Religion

How Joseph got the Eastern Greek Orthodox Religion to correct their Easter date.

As most of you are aware that mostly every Easter in the west the Orthodox would follow our Easter about 10 days later.

This came about from when Pope Gregory? made the adjustment to the calendar when he added Leap year day for every 4 years. So, the Julian calendar became the Gregorian CALENDER.

This also is also the source of the term, April fools come from, but that’s another story.

One day, while I was having coffee at my bakery coffee shop, I notice a Geek Orthodox priest sitting by the outside sidewalk table. I remembered that I had a copy of my “Day of the Lord” booklet in my car, so I went and got the copy and offered it to him. He politely accepted it and I asked where his Church was and found out it was a just a few blockes away. So, I asked him what weekday he was free to have a talk together. He gave me his card and told me to call him on these spare days and make an appointment. This is how I found out that the Greek Orthodox go by the Julian calendar and that is why they have their Easter after us. So, after thinking about the situation I realized that basically we go by the spring Full moon for Easter. This full moon is also the Passover full moon except for the Jews; it has to fall in our April calendar. Any way I went back to him and explained that he does not have a full moon for his Easter. I found out that the Russian Orthodox follows the west so no problem here.

Of course, I knew that being a priest that he couldn’t do anything about it, so I went forward in writing to all the Orthodox Bishops in the United States. and bingo here we are all having the same Easter Sunday with NO April Fools in the Faith.

In Christ, Joseph
