Steven G. Fisher, widely known as the “Caifornia Kid” RIP

stevenSteven Gilbert Fisher Jr., 63, widely known as the “California Kid” passed away on February 22, 2016, after a long battle with liver and kidney problems, Steven …

My son Daniel was associated with Steve Fisher Karate studio’s for about 38 years. First as a student, then as a black belt instructor.

Known by everyone to be tough on the outside and warm hearted on the inside. Mr. Fisher won the admiration of everyone he connected with. He will be sorely missed.  RIP

Here are some of Mr. Fisher’s quote’s that he used to instill on some his student’s. Depending on their age.

“Excuses are the nails that build the house of failure.”

“If you want sympathy, look in the dictionary, you’ll find it somewhere between sissy and suicide.”

“Don’t let your motorcycle mouth get your tricycle ass in trouble.”

At the eulogy presentation: One of his female students told the story of when fighting in a tournament complained to Mr. Fisher that the judges were not calling her points. Mr. Fisher, replied, “that’s amazing, I don’t know how you do it.” she replied, do what? “You’re the judge, the score keeper, the time keeper, and the referee. Imagine how good you would be if you would just fight.” She got the message and went on to win an Olympic Gold Medal in “Tae Kwon Do.” 1988 Soul, Korea.

End of story of a great guy. This reminds me of an old proverb. “Let in wisdom, before you let it out.” That’s what Mr. Fisher did.

In Christ, Joseph
