Mary Johnson, daughter of John and Alvina Breunig, passed away peacefully in the presence of family and her devoted caregiver early Monday morning. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank, her son Robert and her two brothers “Jack” and “Tommy.” Mary is survived by her nine children David (Pam), Sr. Marie de Lourdes AKA Katherine, John (Karen), Ronald (Shelly), Mother Teresa Christe AKA Debra, Chad (Deanna), Joseph (Cathy), Gemma and Christopher (Claudia). She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mary grew up in Redondo Beach, spending much of her youth at the ocean. After graduating from Redondo Beach High school she briefly studied nursing. In 1955 she married her beloved husband Frank. Together they raised their large family, imparting gifts of integrity, devotion and faith to their children. Mary was a woman of immense faith. Her traditional Catholic Faith meant everything to her. Besides praying the Rosary daily over the years she made countless rosaries for the missions and distributed hundreds of copies of St. Louis de Montfort’s classic, The Secret of the Rosary. She was sensitive to the needy, ever generous in giving and sharing with others especially the less fortunate. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The Rosary will be prayed for her on Wednesday March 9 at 7:00pm at Gamby Funeral Home. A Requiem Mass will be offered on Thursday March 10 at 10:00am at Mission Maris Stella followed by burial services at Green Hills. OBITUARY
