Muslim prophet has birthday on eve of our Christmas?

frThis would fit in with the new Rome.

Father Feroldi wishes you a happy Mawlid

In 2015, the celebration of the birth of Jesus coincides with the one of Mohammad. This means that in December 24 the complete Arab world will be feasting their prophet’s birth while the Christian world celebrates the vigil and at midnight the birth of Jesus.

Fr Vincent Feroldi, Director of the National Service for the Relations with Muslims explains that the Algerians and Moroccans are speaking of this, and the dioceses of Metz, Angers, Lille… (in France) etc. working towards this event. He stated that Christians and Muslims of Belgium,  France, Maghreb… etc. are happy. He said that this feast allows the Muslims to express their recognition to the prophet, to remember his virtues, to pray and live a happy family time…

He added that both communities “each in their tradition” will “assemble believing men and women with the ‘one’ who is the source of life….”  “In this so rare unity of date, many want to see a sign of God, in this time so difficult where the peace announced by the angels in Christmas is so badly driven by the craziness of men” “It is in effect the first time in 457 years that the feasts of Mawlid – or Mouloud – and Christmas are going to be celebrated at the same time.” It was 1558 the most comparable date. In 1852 Mawlid coincided with the 25.

Then he himself realizes the consequences and said  “…it is not a question of throwing yourself in a kind of Syncretism, by comparing Jesus and Mohammad. We are conscious of what unites us and what differenciate us, but the simultaneity of the feasts is a beautiful  opportunity of encounter and exchange. If offers the possibility of saying that we are happy of being together, believers, in a same attitude spiritual and humane…”

“We are happy then  of…. ”

“Let’ us profit this moment, for us Christians, to discover the place given to Jesus and Mary in the Koran! A complete sourate – lsourate 19 Maryam – is dedicated to Virgin Mary.”     (…)

“Yes! In 2015, Jesus the Savior is  a sign, grace and mercy for all men ! He is the Prince of Peace! »
