Gone are the days when sport hero’s identified with virtue and integrity. For the ones that didn’t, at least they kept it low keyed. The theme in the past was, “it didn’t mater if you won or lost, but how you played the game.” Today it’s “win the game anyway you can or get out.” So in order to fit the new standards most athletes tend to depend on steroids and other drugs. Mangers steal signs and signals from the opposing teams and now it’s O. K. to be openly gay. Is this the signal and play calling we want to send to our future generation? Who do we blame if down the road, we lose in the game of life?
