The Obama-Putin Match: Advantage Russia

obama-putinThe world is a more dangerous place than it was in the nuclear-nervous Cold War era. This imperiled condition is not because of strength and knowledge but because of weakness and delusion. The current crisis in the Ukraine-Crimea region and the attendant interactions (they are hardly confrontations) between President Obama and President Putin reveal this. LINK

Novena to St. Joseph starts Today

O glorious descendant of the kings of Judah, Inheritor of the virtues of all the Patriarchs, Just and happy St. Joseph, listen to my prayer. Thou art my glorious protector, and shall ever be, after Jesus and Mary, the object of my most profound veneration and confidence. Thou art the most hidden, though the greatest Saint, and art particularly the patron of those who serve God with purity and fervor. In union with all those who have ever been most devoted to thee, I now dedicate myself to thy service; beseeching thee, for the sake of Jesus Christ, Who vouchsafed to love and obey thee as a son, to become a father to me, and obtain a filial respect, confidence and love of a child towards thee. (Pope) wants church to study gay marriage – Woe, woe, woe

Pope Francis wants the Catholic Church to study same-sex unions, Cardinal Timothy Dolan said on NBC’s “Meet The Press” on Sunday. According to Dolan, Francis wants church leaders to “look into it and see the reasons that have driven them.” “It wasn’t as if he came out and approved them,”  Dolan said.  “He said, ‘Rather than quickly condemn them, let’s just ask the questions as to why that has appealed to certain people.” LINK

Pope Francis: Church could support civil unions

Pope Francis reaffirmed the Catholic Church’s opposition to gay marriage on Wednesday, but suggested in a newspaper interview that it could support some types of civil unions. The Pope reiterated the church’s longstanding teaching that “marriage is between a man and a woman.” However, he said, “We have to look at different cases and evaluate them in their variety.”LINK

A highly recommended suggestion for Lent

read-the-bible-throughA good way to get the feel and have your hand on our Lord’s pulse would be to read the Readings and Gospel for each day in lent if daily Mass is not available.

Most of the main events that take place in Scriptures take place, from Lent to Pentecost Sunday, Creation of the World, Adam & Eve, The Passover, Ten Commandments, The Flood? The Annunciation, The Crucifixion, Resuurection, Opening of Heaven on Ascension Thursday, The Birthday of the Church & Christ’s Return on Pentecost Sunday. And I might add so should the Great Chastisement which precedes the Second Coming of Christ.

Grace be with you, In Christ, Joseph
