Song “End of the World” Ended in 1969 When you Said Goodbye

st. josephs church las vegasI visit St. Joseph’s in Las Vegas three or four times a year which gives me an opportunity to visit with other (traditional) Catholics then after the morning Masses on Sunday I drive Father Krier down to Needles, Ca. for a 4 pm Mass there. Needles has a small group and the property where Father was having Mass was sold and they just about completed a new Chapel which I found impressive. Big enough for about sixty people.

One thing about Las Vegas being the entertainment capitol of the world they have a variety of radio stations and one of them plays the oldies but goodies, as we seniors like to say. (104:7 fm) These songs from the 60’s & 70’s are a real treat and as big as Los Angeles is, we don’t have one here so as soon as I get into the Las Vegas area I turn my car radio on to the station and also at night when I’m supposed to go to sleep, I listen to it all night and reminisce on some of my favorites. One song that caught my attention, which I had forgotten about was, “End of the World.” Strange, I thought that I would forget a song with that title. As the female vocalist sang the song she describes how her world came to an end when her lover left and said goodbye.

What came to mind was how I could apply these words with what transpired with us Catholics as a result of the V-2 Council. For us Catholics the world ended when the council said goodbye to the faith, or divorced Our Lady and Married Eve or went and adopted syncretism for Catholicism. We could say that the world ended when the V-2 decrees became official and the Ottaviani Intervention was ignored on September 1969 when 99% of the hierarchy said goodbye to the Catholic Faith. Even though we didn’t all die I see the body dying and reaching it’s destination soon.

To put a little salt on the wound, at least for me, (As I preach Parousia), I happen to have met (1958) and know the guy who wrote the words to the song, “Till the End Of Time.” I guess we had better start singing that new song they sing in Heaven before the throne called, “Christ the King,” only up there they sing it in anti-phonic? So tune up your vocals and get ready for Christ the King day at the end of the month. You won’t have to learn it for Heaven, it will be automatic.

In Christ, Joseph
