
Two possible cases of leprosy reported at Riverside County

Nursing staff at Indian Hills Elementary School in Jurupa Valley notified county officials Friday of the suspected infections, which will take several weeks to officially confirm, said Barbara Cole, director for disease control for the Riverside County Department of Public Health.

13 shot to death, dozens wounded in Chicago shootings

The police department also said the 13 were among 43 people who were shot over the weekend. Among those was a pregnant woman who delivered a nearly full-term baby after she was shot in the abdomen. I saw that YouTube clip. Although it is the Exsultet chant of the Easter Vigil, the whole thing is taken out of context. The chant is very ancient–more than 100 years, maybe back to St. Augustune–and refers to Jesus Christ as the Light Bearer who knows no sunset after His Resurrection. There is no blog to offer comment after the clip concludes. I repeat: the Catholic Church has been using this chant over 1000 years, and it refers to Jesus Christ–not Satan.
