The Japanese press has taken to calling it sekkusu shinai shokogun: celibacy syndrome.

Basically, the country just isn’t that interested in sex — and it could have huge effects beyond its borders.

The most recent evidence comes in a survey by the Japan Family Planning Association, reported on in the Japan Times.

A full 49.3% of respondents between the ages of 16 and 49 in the 1,134-person survey said they hadn’t had sex in the past month. MORE

America’s Last July 4th (1776-2015)

TAMUZJuly 4, 1776 = 17th Tammuz

July 4, 2015 = 17th Tammuz

The last time July 4 was on the 17th of Tammuz was 1996. In other words, this doesn’t happen every few years but rather about every 20. The next time July 4th falls on the 17th of Tammuz is 2034. Folks, this is not a common occurrence. When you add September 23rd falling on Yom Kippur that same year it is even more rare. As you know many prophetic indicators are pointing to this date. MORE

Republican doubts Senate will confirm ambassador to Cuba

CUBANI can see why more nations are turning to Russia. They cant depend on our leaders.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Thursday that his chamber is unlikely to approve an American ambassador to Cuba, dishing out a quick rebuff to President Barack Obama and his drive to normalize relations with the U.S. neighbor and longtime Cold War foe.

The Kentucky Republican also suggested that the GOP — which controls Congress — would fight Obama administration efforts to fully lift trade and travel restrictions that have limited American commerce and tourism with the communist-led island nation. McConnell said the country was led by “a thuggish regime.”

Evangelical voters: “We’re stronger than ever”

Ralph-Reed-They wouldn’t vote for Romney because he was a Mormon

“While they (the media) keep writing our obituary and claiming that the winds of social change are against us, they’re missing the reality right in front of their noses, which is that we’ve never been this strong and we’ve never been this effective not on our best day. Not when Reagan was elected, not when George W. Bush was elected, not when Newt Gingrich became speaker. We’re stronger than ever.”

The Metropolitan Anthimos told the congregation they had the right to vote however they wished, but that he would “vote for Europe” — at which point the assembly erupted with a mix of responses, some applauding while others shouted objections. MORE

The Fate Of A Polish Church

SAVEFor more than a century, the copper spires of St. Laurentius have stood tall over Philadelphia’s Fishtown. But the city’s oldest Polish church — founded in 1882 — could soon face the wrecking ball.

Former parishioners and other community activists are protesting the building’s destruction, and their effort is gaining momentum. On a recent day, dozens of Philadelphia residents who spent their whole lives going to St. Laurentius donned white T-shirts with “Save St. Laurentius” written in bold red letters. Hoping to grab the attention of city officials, they boarded a yellow school bus and headed to City Hall. MORE
