Yes, they are doing something like this, but it is also important not to forget easily that these popes, out of their own free will, have vehemently rejected some core doctrines of the Catholic Church. All of them held heretical opinions even before they ascended the papal throne (In fact, a careful study has shown that it was because of these heretical opinions that they were actually elected by the cardinals). For instance, at Vatican II, Archbishop Carol Wojtyla, the future John Paul II, commenting on missionary activity in the Church, said: “It is not the role of the Church to lecture unbelievers. We are engaged in a search along with our fellow men—let us avoid moralizing or the suggestion that we have a monopoly of truth.” As Pope he repeated this in his abominable encyclical Ut unum sint and spoke often of the possibility of the universal salvation of all men. pope Francis, church is not just for Catholics anymore

TWEETAn ordained reverend raised as a conservative Baptist admits to having a “man crush” on the guy. A rabbi long-steeped in the climate crisis credits him for mobilizing Jews to action. An imam from Syria thanks him for protecting his family and people.

Pope Francis may be the head honcho of the world’s largest Christian church, but since he stepped into the papacy in March 2013, he’s captured hearts across religious — and even nonreligious — lines. MORE

How Pope Francis vandalized marriage

Are you married? You may think so, but the pope has other ideas.

Pope Francis has declared this year a Jubilee year of mercy. He has made it easier to restore people who have participated in abortion to full communion. U.S. to China: Take back your undocumented immigrants

Daniel Maher poses for a photo for Reuters in BerkeleyIn early June, in cities across America, U.S. immigration agents arrested more than two dozen Chinese nationals with unfulfilled deportation orders, telling them that after years of delay, China was finally taking steps to provide the paperwork needed to expel them from the U.S.

But, not for the first time, China failed to provide the necessary documents, and three months later not one of those arrested has been deported, and many have been released from custody. They form part of a backlog of nearly 39,000 people Chinese nationals awaiting deportation for violating U.S. immigration laws, 900 of them classed as violent offenders, according to immigration officials.
