The Movement to Bury Pets Alongside People

When Chris Nichols was diagnosed with a life-threatening cancer, he knew exactly where he wanted to be buried: Ramsey Creek, a 33-acre nature preserve just outside Westminster, South Carolina, minutes from his home. One attendee at the funeral was his dog, Briar. The pet watched as Nichols was bundled in quilts sewn by his great-grandmothers and lowered into the ground inside a coffin his father had made. MORE

The first “Indigenous Peoples Day,” was capped with fires up and down the State of California.

A statue of Christopher Columbus was covered up Monday just as the first Indigenous Peoples Day in Los Angeles got underway.

That statue is located in downtown Los Angeles’ Grand Park, in front of an entrance to the Stanley Mosk Courthouse off Hill Street. A white cover was placed over the sculpture of Christopher Columbus and the block it stands on, and a chain-link fence erected around it. MORE

Is California going to Hell? They’re desire for being the first state in the union as mother-earth purest’s is backfiring. No pun intended about the fire. That’s another story. Scroll down.

The California hepatitis A outbreak is on the verge of reaching statewide epidemic status, as cases have spread through homeless tent cities from San Diego north to Sacramento.

Another explanation may be the city’s decision to ban plastic bags, which deprived homeless people of an alternative means of disposing of human waste when bathrooms were not available. MORE

Finally, men become men. Is it too late? Oh sorry, it’s not about men. It’s about the bottom line. ESPN fears losing sponsors.

The “SportsCenter” anchor was suspended for a violation of “social media guidelines,” according a statement from the network, which also noted that she had previously let “her colleagues and company down with an impulsive tweet.” MORE

Miami Dolphins owner Steve Ross, who had three players — wide receiver Kenny Stills, safety Michael Thomas and tight end Julius Thomas — kneel during the national anthem prior to last week’s game said Sunday he wished they would stand for the anthem. The trio ended up standing in the tunnel during the anthem and running onto the field afterward. MORE

Jerry Jones: ‘We’re going to respect the flag’

Controversy over protests during the national anthem simmered down in Week 4 after a leaguewide spread following President Trump’s September criticism. But the political brushfire flared right back up again in Week 5 thanks to Vice President Mike Pence’s highly publicized walkout from an Indianapolis Colts game, a protest of the protests apparently orchestrated by President Trump himself. Later in the day, following a last-second loss at the hands of the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke at length on the protests. MORE

The Forty Seven Year on-going Traditional Catholic Problem

Pope Leo XIII in his Encyclical on “The Unity of the Church,” indicates to us that, it is as wrong to divide the Church as it is to fall into heresy. Why is it then that unity among the Traditionalists is lacking? Massive fires in Napa and Sonoma burn hundreds of homes and businesses, force evacuations, close hospitals

There is good news. All these homeless can go to their sanctuary cities.

A swarm of wildfires ripped through Napa and Sonoma counties early Monday, destroying hundreds of homes and businesses, forcing thousands of people to flee and turning wide swaths of the Wine Country into wastelands of twisted metal and ash as firefighters sought to halt the advance of flames super-charged by powerful winds. US opens 1st permanent military base in Israel

Will the U.S. Embassy be next? Or (pope) Francis?

Even though the US has routinely deployed forces to Israel, it is only now opening an official permanent military base in the country. The move, largely seen as symbolic, is meant to send a strong message to Israel’s enemies.

It will be a “base within a base,” located inside the Israeli Air Force’s Mashabim Air Base in the middle of the Negev desert, close to a US military radar installation east of Dimona that tracks ballistic missiles. MORE
