My visit to Holy Cross Cemetery

On August 22, 1937, I was a 15th month old baby. After a rainy day, my Dad took us on a picnic somewhere near Boston. My brother Ed was sitting in front. In the backseat sat my Mom, brother Pete and holding me, was my sister Carmelina.

The bridge had an interesting feature. In those days, it had trolley tracks. Driving over the bridge, because of the precipitation, made the trolley tracks slippery as glass. Crossing over, losing traction and hydroplaning caused the car to spin out of control. Wildly, the vehicle and all of us inside, barreled over the side of the bridge.

In 1953, during the last repressive spasm of the Stalinist period, he was put under house arrest without trial when the government claimed that he had violated a pledge that the church would punish priests who engaged in anti-government activity. In 1956, shortly after Władysław Gomułka came to power, the Cardinal was released.

When John the Bap­tist appeared at the Jordan river, pro­claiming that the kingdom of God was at hand (cf. Mt. 3:1-12; Mk. 1:2-8; Lk. 3:2-18) the Jews flocked to hear him. The expectation of the Promised Re­deemer, the Messias, was strong at this time, and here was a Prophet announcing his proximate arrival and calling on the people to repent of their sins in order to be prepared to receive him.

That’s nice. They will be on an Island away from the mainland, ha.

After having spent the summer renting an estate owned by Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck, the former first family decided to put in an offer for the dreamy vacation home, reports TMZ, who first broke the news. The property is currently in escrow, so its not a done deal yet, but the website reports that both sides are confident. VIDEO

The only Major Prophet in the Catholic Religion is the Pope

A Prophet is one who speaks in the place of God.
Saint John the Baptist, Last of the Prophets.
And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Eliseus the Prophet; and not one of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian. St. Lk. 4:23-30

Our Lord was demonstrating why those who lack faith seldom see signs and miracles, as He continues, an evil and adulterous generation seeketh a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the Prophet. St. Matt. 12:39. A prelude to our times as this generation, too, demands signs from God’s witnesses preceding the Second Coming of Christ.
