Americans Skeptical Of God But Think Heaven Is Real, Somehow

11580081659Since 1980, the number of Americans who believe in God has decreased by half and the number who pray has declined five-fold. Has America lost its faith?

The United States formally separates Church and State, but it’s hard to deny that America is inundated with religious innuendo, from its controversial pledge of allegiance all the way down to its Judeo-Christian courthouse displays and faith-espousing legal tender. Yet fewer Americans pray or believe in God than ever before, according to a new study in the journal Sage Open. MORE

Georgia Could Lose Super Bowls If Antigay Bill Signed

GettyImages-159773922.0As Republican Gov. Nathan Deal considers “religious freedom” legislation that would open the door to businesses denying service to LGBT people, the National Football League issued a statement saying Atlanta could lose the chance to host a Super Bowl.

The statement was issued to the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and came from league spokesman Brian McCarthy:

“NFL policies emphasize tolerance and inclusiveness, and prohibit discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or any other improper standard. Whether the laws and regulations of a state and local community are consistent with these policies would be one of many factors NFL owners may use to evaluate potential Super Bowl host sites.” MORE

Largest U.S. refinery now belongs to Saudi Arabia

SHELLRoyal Dutch Shell and Saudi Aramco appear to be getting a divorce, breaking up their joint venture in U.S.-based refining assets.

The two companies joined together to create Motiva Enterprises LLC in 1998, a 50-50 joint venture that operated three refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast. But Shell and Saudi Aramco have seen their interests head in different directions. “It is now time for the partners to pursue their independent downstream goals,” said Abdulrahman Al-Wuhaib, a senior vice president of Saudi Aramco’s downstream unit. The reading  on Good Friday,  Holy Saturday Gen: 1.How ironic that our Lord would die on the day He created Adam. Some say that they were both buried in the same area but I can’t vouch for that. Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards Spotted at White House After Merrick Garland Nomination

WHOUSEAfter President Barack Obama’s nomination of liberal appeals court judge Merrick Garland to replace pro-life Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court, the CEO of the Planned Parenthood abortion business was spotted entering the White House.

The picture prompts speculation as to what kind of help Planned Parenthood will give the Obama administration in attempting to get another abortion-supporting judge on the nation’s highest court. A reporter or Politico took a photo of Richards entering the West Wing. Richards is on the right side of the picture in short blonde hair walking along with someone who is presumably another Planned Parenthood official.

Real debate is stifled (Political correctness)

468x315Not so long ago I accepted a post for teaching law at one of Britain’s prestigious Universities. On my first hour of arriving I was taken in to meet the Head of Department.

I was told that a student had made a complaint about my appointment, and that the complaint was being investigated. The complaint related to some things I had said in a recent by-election.

I was a little taken aback, not so much because there was a complaint but because it warranted an investigation that would unnecessarily use up taxpayers’ money. MORE
