Most deaths were among children under 5 years of age. Babies and very young children are at greatest risk from measles infections, with potential complications including pneumonia and encephalitis (a swelling of the brain), as well as lifelong disability – permanent brain damage, blindness or hearing loss. What most Catholics are not aware,  that it is generally held, Jeremias and St.John Baptist were both born without sin. They were sanctified in their mother’s womb before birth. The protestant Bibles substitute the word sanctified for favored one or chosen one.
