I wrote an article like this in August 2011 on “The Assumption and Speculative Theology,” and sent it out to many of our Fathers. I also included SSPX and SGG.
One of the reasons for the transfiguration of Our Lord was to demonstrate the relationship between our body and our Ghost, (soul). The reason being to what transpires during the general judgment. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye…” I Corin. 15:52. Often to illustrate this at some of my lectures, I would go over to a light switch. Then point to the light bulb in the off position. Then say, with the light bulb turned off, think of it as our physical body. When God turns the switch on, you go immediately to your Ghost, then those who go to heaven, go in our glorified Ghost and, (We become like the Angels).
Back in those days very little was known about the other world. The Sadducees and Pharisees were divided on the existence of Angels.
This same thesis would also apply with Our Lady’s Assumption. Our Lady’s death was the same as what will happen to everybody at the general judgment. “… it was just as easy for God to take her glorified body to heaven at once as it will be to take the glorified bodies of all the saved at the last day..”…. at once being assumed into heaven.” Radio Replies II, pg. 167. Ott. page 208-210.
Now it’s not incorrect to us the definition of “Death”, when we are transformed because in a sense the body dies as we go to the birth of our GHOST, or SOUL. So it’s not uncommon to see paintings of Our Lady as a corpse (Dormant) getting ready for a burial. What is achieved here is a tribute to her departure and farewell. Just use a little logic and common sense. If Our Lady was allowed to die, as some reason, where did her SOUL go in the mean time? God would NEVER allow his Daughter, Wife and Mother’s soul and body to be separated not even for an instant, her body and beautiful soul were taken up in an instant to be forever with her Creator for all time memorial. Faith does not contradict reason.
So please my dear faithful, watch out for all that speculative theology. It’s just theatrics made to sell literature for financial gain and self ego.
