It has taken two decades, but Bernie Fellay’s house of cards is finally falling. Newchurch doesn’t want him. More than 100 of his priests have abandoned him. Now one of the Neo-SSPX’s most respected leaders has had enough of him, Fr. Paul Morgan, who had recently District Superior of the United Kingdom and Scandanavia, then moved on to become a Prior of Canada. Fr. Morgan had been a great missionary for the Society, having founded its mission in the Philippines.
When the three Neo-SSPX bishops (Fellay, Galarreta, Tissier de Mallerais) and 25 District Superiors met in Albano, Italy, on October 7-8, 2011, and Bernie Fellay was told in no uncertain terms that he could not engage in further “negotiations” with Newrome to sell out the Neo-SSPX, Fr. Morgan did what a leader of his people should do: he reported back to his U.K. \members what had happened at the meeting. Fellay flew into a rage and chastized the highly-respected Fr. Morgan to the horror of U.K. Neo-SSPXers. As a result, Fellay tried to impose an Order of Silence upon all Neo-SSPX leaders.
Fr. Morgan is an outspoken opponent to the Modernist Vatican II Anti-council to which Fellay is trying to play the sycophant. Fr. Morgan has publicly opposed Fellay’s attempted sellout of the once-traditional Catholic SSPX of Archbishop Lefebvre to the Marxist Newpope Francis-Bergoglio.
Fr. Morgan, who seems to be one its best and most honest leaders left in the Neo-SSPX, tried to continue to serve the Neo-SSPX, thinking that he could continue after the example of the great Archbishop Lefebvre, but ultimately determined that he could not do so with Superior-Dictator Fellay at the helm. Thus, he quit Fellay, joining the seven leading Prior-Pastors in France who recently quit Fellay when Fellay placed the control of Neo-SSPX in the power of the heretic Newpope, Francis-Bergoglio.
The date of Fr. Morgan’s abandoning Fellay, August 10, is significant: the feastday of St. Lawrence of Rome, one of the most prominent Martyr-Saints of the Church, who suffered unspeakable tortures at the hands of the Roman emperor. Fr. Morgan is now living with a group of traditional Capuchins.
True Catholics, Fr. Morgan’s departure is a crushing blow to the facade that Bernie Fellay puts up. It has become clear that Fellay is damaged goods of his own making and needs to go. Our bet is that he will be forced out at the next General Chapter meeting in Summer 2018. But the damage is done. The Neo-SSPX, which long ago departed from the traditional Catholic principles of its great founder, Archbishop Lefebvre, will hobble along, but it will never recover from the quarter century of the tyrrany of Fellay.
