Pope Francis: ‘If I Speak of Islamic Violence, I Must Speak of Catholic Violence’ (HE’S AN APOCALYPTIC DISASTER!)

pop-640x480In a press conference Sunday, Pope Francis appeared to suggest that all religions are equally prone to violence and that Islam and Christianity are the same in this regard.

When asked by a journalist about the “barbarous assassination of Fr. Jacques Hamel” in northern France who was clearly “killed in the name of Islam” last Tuesday, the Pope replied that he doesn’t like speaking about Islamic violence because there is plenty of Christian violence as well. MORE

11 Native American Tribes, Including The Two Largest, Prohibit Gay Marriage

Tribal laws of the two largest Native American tribes in the United States prohibit gay marriage, as do the laws of nine other smaller tribes.

The Navajo and Cherokee Nations, the first and second largest tribes respectively, together have about 600,000 members. The nine smaller tribes that ban gay marriage have another 350,000 members. These tribes all either define marriage as between a man and a woman or explicitly prohibit same-sex marriage, according to the Associated Press (AP). MORE

 

Jerry Brown wants all new cars in California zero-emission by 2050

BROWNThe Brown administration on Thursday adopted a goal of making all new passenger vehicles sold in California zero-emission by 2050 – an initiative that, if successful, could dramatically reduce the environmental footprint of the state’s drive-everywhere culture.

The goal was adopted in a nonbinding agreement with 12 other North American and European governments, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Connecticut, Maryland and New York. MORE

No capital Punishment in E. U. Countries

penaltyIt’s one thing to disagree with the effects of Capital Punishment but another to ban any country from E.U. membership because they wish to adopt it in their country,  Even Catholics are divided on the issue.

Since 1980, the USCCB has taken a strong and principled position against the use of the death penalty in the United States. We oppose the use of the death penalty not just for what it does to those guilty of horrible crimes, but for how it affects society; moreover, Pope John Paul II, in both The Gospel of Life and the revised Catechism of the Catholic Church, states that our society has adequate alternative means today to protect society from violent crime without resorting to capital punishment.
