The pope embraces Raul Castro but calls Donald Trump anti-Christian!

Raul-Castro-Pope-Francis-jpgLast Sunday, Pope Francis was in Mexico visiting sick children in hospitals.  It was amazing to watch him holding the little kids and praying with their mothers.  As a Catholic, I was so proud of “El Papa.”

That was El Papa being El Papa, or the religious leader of my faith.  He was reaching out to kids and their mothers and giving them some hope.

As he left Mexico, Pope Francis made a terrible mistake by saying that Donald Trump is not a Christian.  I am not sure if he was answering a question or speaking at a meeting.  He had finished a Mass on the El Paso-Ciudad Juarez border.  MORE

VIDEO: Decision looms for Army sergeant who protected Afghan boy

A decorated Army sergeant who protected an Afghan boy from a child molester could find out any day whether his actions will end his career in the military.

Sgt. First Class Charles Martland, a Green Beret with an 11-year Special Forces career, was stationed in Afghanistan in 2011 when the boy’s mother came to him and said she’d been beaten and her son raped by a local police commander. Martland and another soldier summoned the police official and, when the man laughed at them, threw him off the base. Martland and Daniel Quinn were both disciplined for their actions. MORE

California of the Dark Ages

d832e65_1454379894.jpg.resizedI recently took a few road trips longitudinally and latitudinally across California. The state bears little to no resemblance to what I was born into. In a word, it is now a medieval place of lords and peasants—and few in between. Or rather, as I gazed out on the California Aqueduct, the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Luis Reservoir, I realized we are like the hapless, squatter Greeks of the Dark Ages, who could not figure out who those mythical Mycenaean lords were that built huge projects still standing in their midst, long after Lord Ajax and King Odysseus disappeared into exaggeration and myth. Henry Huntington built the entire Big Creek Hydroelectric Project in the time it took our generation to go to three hearings on a proposed dam. MORE

VATICAN SURROUNDED BY WALLS… Has most restrictive immigration, citizenship policies of any nation in world… Mr Pontiff, Tear Down This Wall

vatican-city-anti-immigration-wall-pope-francisThe wall in these photos is something more impressive than anything even Donald Trump could build.

While Pope Francis is in the United States effectively advocating for a borderless America, many people are amused by the irony of the giant wall surrounding his own Vatican City.

During his speech before Congress, Pope Francis implored U.S. politicians to embrace migrants seeking to come into America.

“Our world is facing a refugee crisis of a magnitude not seen since the second World War,” the pope said, according to USA Today, including “thousands of persons (who) are led to travel north in search of a better life. MORE

POPE PICKS FIGHT WITH TRUMP POPE NOW SAYS BIRTH CONTROL OK

PEABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE (AP) — Pope Francis has suggested that women threatened with the Zika virus could use artificial contraception, saying there’s a clear moral difference between aborting a fetus and preventing a pregnancy.

Did Saudi Arabia play a role in September 11? Here’s what we know.

SAUDIDonald Trump, on Wednesday, became the latest American to wonder whether, when al-Qaeda attacked the United States on September 11, 2001, it could have had some help from the government of Saudi Arabia.

“It wasn’t the Iraqis, you will find out who really knocked down the World Trade Center, ’cause they have papers in there that are very secret, you may find it’s the Saudis, okay? But you will find out,” Trump said in South Carolina.MORE
