The Greeks taught that in the moral sphere, everything is a matter of antipolon, of balance. This classical philosophical teaching was completely adopted by the Church Principal Theologian, St. Thomas Aquinas, who developed the classical idea of the Aurea Mediocritas, the Golden Mean in the area of Catholic moral theology. Sin can be either of excess or of deficit. For example, the virtue of generosity is the mean between the sinful excess of spendthriftiness and the sinful deficit of stinginess.
Just so, God balances justice and mercy. Too much “blind justice,” and individual cases are not prudently judged. Too much false mercy, and sin is encouraged. Grave moral evils are created when one side of the balance is overemphasized, and the other side is ignored. That is exactly what Francis-Bergoglio and Newchurch have been doing. As a result, they have encouraged the gravest moral evils, among them: sodomy, harming children, and lying and fraud “for the good of the Church.” Notice that Bergoglio never talks about God’s justice.
