Nowhere in the developed world has there been an increase in aliyah as marked as in France. The Jewish Agency for Israel and Israel’s Ministry of Immigrant Absorption estimate that more than 5,000 French Jews — 1% of the community — will immigrate to Israel in 2014, compared with 3,289 in 2013 and 1,917 in 2012.
