Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner became the godmother of a lesbian couple’s baby girl in a Roman Catholic ceremony on Saturday – though the Church opposes gay marriage.  Baby Umma Azul is just over 2 months old and was baptized as mothers Carina Villarroel and Soledad Ortiz, who were married last year, looked on. African Christians will be killed if the Church of England accepts gay marriage, the archbishop of Canterbury has suggested. Speaking on an LBC phone in, Justin Welby said he had stood by a mass grave in Nigeria of 330 Christians who had been massacred by neighbours who had justified the atrocity by saying: “If we leave a Christian community here we will all be made to become homosexual and so we will kill all the Christians.” MORE

A delegation of nine American prelates led by Cardinal Sean P. Mark your calendars, sky watchers: In one week a total lunar eclipse will turn the moon an eerie shade of red. On April 15, at 1:58 a.m., the moon will move into Earth’s shadow. The full lunar eclipse—when the entirety of the moon is shaded by Earth—begins just over an hour later at 3:07 a.m. and lasts until 4:25 a.m. The eclipse will be visible across almost the entire continental United States, most of Canada and Central America and parts of South America. MORE

The Arab branch of the hacker group “Anonymous” claimed to have brought down several Israeli news and governmental websites on Monday, after threats calling for a massive cyber-attack dubbed “OpIsrael” were made the day before, and in mid-March.

The April 7 date of the attack was timed last year to fall on the eve of Israel’s Holocaust Memorial Day. This year, Holocaust Memorial Day, which is determined based on the Hebrew calendar, will be April 28. However, the hackers chose to ignore this and to recreate the attack on April 7. MORE

Hundreds of websites of Israeli ministries and organizations came under attack by Anonymous early Monday as part of the hacktivist group’s anti-Israel operation, dubbed #OpIsrael.

“On April 7, 2014, we call upon our brothers and sisters to hack, deface, hijack, database leak, admin takeover, and DNS terminate the Israeli Cyberspace by any means necessary” the group said in a statement. MORE

Looters are a serious problem that accompanies any disaster. If you don’t believe me, just look at Hurricane Katrina; the city was underwater, but the looters were out, seeing what they could steal. Of course, it doesn’t take a disaster to get looters going; there are plenty around on a day-to-day basis. The American fight for equality began with distinctly Christian precepts. The suggestion sounds ludicrous: How could Christianity be responsible for the all-but-assured triumph of the movement for gay marriage? ‘We are calling on all Muslims to come out and fight’ – The violent jihadist group aiming to put Nigeria under Islamic law is calling on its supporters to go to churches and kill Christians. Boko Haram, in a video, also warns police to get out of the way because the group’s drive for Islamic law, or Shariah, will not be stopped. Islam analyst Theodore Shoebat noted the jihadists sing an ominous song in the video that is “purely in accordance with Islamic tenets.” MORE
