The Pro and Con with President Obama’s Military delay on Syria – 9-1-13

To begin with I was sympathetic towards President Assad’s policies in Syria and did not feel we had the right to cram our secular democracy down everyone’s throat. However, once we made a commitment in helping the rebels and seeing the endless killing and the displacement of hundreds of thousand refugee’s I had to ask myself, when will this end? As it is now, this revolution  could go on and on for years. So when President Obama decided to act, I was for it, for the sake of bringing an early end to the bloodshed.
To me Obama would have been better off in keeping his decision confidential to the public until the moment of the attacks. This, of course gives Assad time to hide much of his military assets but on the other hand, Assad has to take some of his military personnel away from the fighting to do the hiding. As such this at least would help the rebels regroup in time for the resurgent of fighting and hopefully by then the Assad forces will have a lot less to fight with. One other problem now would be a long delay. This will give Assad followers from other countries time to infiltrate, join up with the Army and cause more needless deaths.
