Thus far, Knight leaders have successfully stonewalled against the charge that the Knights of Columbus has been taken over by Opus Dei. In March and April of this year, akaCatholic published a fascinating nine part exposé by Randy Engel on the Opus Dei takeover of the Knights of Columbus. The response from readers was overwhelmingly positive, as expected.

The response from Opus Dei, Knights of Columbus, and their most adamant apologists, by contrast, was nearly non-existent. Beyond a few ad hominem attacks unjustly directed against Mrs. Engel upon publication of Part One, as each successive part built upon the others, her critics fell silent, a sure indication that her report is right on target.
