The Demise of the Christian Marriage

The Demise of the Christian Marriage

Of Late some of the Fathers have given sermons of the importance of “Catholic’s Marrying Catholics” and “The Meaning of Marriage” All well and good but what’s lacking is understanding the world we live in.

The first problem that needs to be addressed, which discourages anyone seeking to get married is the high cost of living, especially with housing. Most major cities the rents for apartments go for anywhere from $1200 to $3000 a month. Many of these apartments are all paid for but, as I have been told, “That’s the going rate.” no matter about helping young adults in getting started in forming a family. “It’s money talks” and all else walks. In talking to a single friend of mine, who runs a business, he said “Joe for a guy to have a regular marriage today, he has to be earning at least $150,000 a year and that’s for each person.” Many young adults cannot even leave their parents homes, let alone get married. Many students who manage to get a college degree who can get married can’t afford to have children because they both are in debt to around $100,000 dollars from student loans and by the time, they pay down the loans It’s doubtful if the wife can still have children and if they can, its one or two.

It’s even worse, with “Catholic camps,” or divisions within the Church that divide pious Catholics from each other and limit their perceived dating pools. There is little unity between the three camps of traditionalists which is sinful in itself. I have even suggested to some, that they have a better chance of hooking up with a N/O Catholic and Converting them to the traditional faith. And to make matters worse, we have GOD’S wrath in our Apocalyptic Times to overcome as well. Another sad state being created is why we have the current increase in SAME SEX relationships. It’s safe sex with no chances of the gal’s getting pregnant. Another reason we need Christ’s urgent return.

There you have it my friends. I find whenever a subject comes up about bad times in the past or whatever, very few explain why we had those bad times as I do with this article, to understand what is going on today and hopefully each one of us can do whatever we can to help each other in these serious matters in any little way that we can and by doing so we follow our Lords commandment to love one another as I have loved you.

Grace be with you, in Christ, Joseph B. D. Saraceno           2-2-23. Purification of BVM
